Practical care for the places we share

Shared Ground organizes volunteer cleanups and care days for beaches, forests, rivers and historic sites. Come for a morning, bring a friend, and leave a place better than you found it.

Why we exist

Local places stay cared for when local people look after them

Litter on a beach, along a river or beside a forest path rarely belongs to anyone in particular – which is exactly why it stays. We organize simple, well-prepared volunteer days so that anyone can help: no experience or equipment needed, just a few hours.

Every activity is planned with care for the place and for the people taking part: a clear safety briefing, waste sorted for recycling where possible, and an honest record of what was done.

How we measure impact

We only publish what we have actually counted

After each event we record who took part and, where we can weigh it, how much waste was collected. Figures appear here once they have been checked – never estimates presented as facts.

Until then, the best record of our work is the activities themselves: what we did, where, and with whom.
